Bruce Power proud to support United Way Bruce Grey with $327,000 in donations

This past weekend, Bruce Power participated in the United Way of Bruce Grey’s Coldest Night of the Year event in Port Elgin. This event brought the community together for a winter walk, raising $44,878 in support of local charities serving people experiencing hurt, hunger and homelessness.

Bruce Power’s commitment to community health and wellness is demonstrated through internal donation programs such as the Employee Payroll Deduction Program, the Bruce Power Challenger Cup Charity Soccer Tournament, and the annual Holiday Toy Drive. In 2023 alone, Bruce Power raised $327,000 for the United Way of Bruce Grey.

In addition to The Coldest Night of the Year event, Bruce Power donations have helped fund critical United Way initiatives such as the Utility Assistance Program, the Backpack Program, Financial Literacy and the Poverty Task Force.

“Bruce Power’s continued support of the work of the United Way energizes all our programs and supports real change in our community,” said Francesca Dobbyn, Executive Director of United Way Bruce Grey.

Chris Mudrick, Bruce Power’s Chief Nuclear Officer and Executive Vice-President, participated in the Coldest Night of the Year event along with his team, the Bruce Powerwalkers. He expressed the company’s pride in partnership with the local United Way.

“Bruce Power is committed to helping United Way of Bruce Grey tackle important social issues to bring positive and long-lasting change by building better communities together,” Mudrick said.
