Scongack awarded King Charles III Coronation Medal for contributions to Ontario and Canada

James Scongack has been awarded with the King Charles III Coronation Medal for his contributions to Ontario and Canada through his leadership in clean energy, medical isotopes and in health care and economic development.

As a nominating partner for the Coronation Medal, Pam Damoff, Member of Parliament for Oakville North-Burlington and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, selected Scongack, Bruce Power’s Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice-President, to receive this honour and presented it to him on behalf of the Government of Canada.

“I have had the opportunity to work with James for many years and have seen his leadership firsthand as someone who brings people together to set bold goals backed up by action to build Canada’s leading role – domestically and internationally – as an isotope superpower, while being a tireless advocate for clean energy, public health and strong communities,” said Damoff. “I am thrilled to recognize James with this distinguished honour and I know that he will continue this important work, leading by example.”

Scongack’s leadership has made an impact both domestically and internationally. He continues to be a dedicated advocate in the clean energy sector and a champion for Canada’s leadership role in medical isotope production. He has contributed to numerous public health programs, given his time to causes and charities close to his heart, and driven economic development.

“We’re blessed to live in a great country with enormous potential and together we can continue to do great things and bring out the best in each other,” Scongack said. “I’m grateful for this recognition and continue to be inspired every day, working with amazing people and organizations so Canada can continue to lead the world in clean energy and medical isotope production while building healthy and prosperous communities in Ontario and Canada.”

The Coronation Medal was created to mark the Coronation of King Charles III and the Office of the Secretary to the Governor General is responsible for administering it to people who have made a significant contribution to Canada. Members of Parliament were denoted as nominating partners to award 20 medals to deserving recipients who have made a significant contribution to Canada or to a particular province, territory region, or community, or have an outstanding achievement abroad that brings credit to Canada, and that exemplify the values of service and selflessness, professionalism and commitment.
