Through its $30,000 donation, Bruce Power was named the title sponsor of the inaugural Art of Caring Gala, which was hosted by Brothers Big Sisters of Grey Bruce, Bruce Grey Child & Family Services, and Keystone Child, Youth and Family Services on Nov. 16.
The unique and powerful partnership between these critical family services organizations is a first of its kind and will occur every two years. Intended to celebrate the breadth and depth of community support they collectively offer to local youth and families, the Art of Caring Gala celebrated the power of community connection by featuring artwork from local youth and community members to help raise awareness and funding for continued and enhanced programming.
“We are honoured to be able to support such a signature moment in community and collaborative support,” said John Peevers, Bruce Power’s Director, Community and Media Relations, and Economic Development. “The power of ‘we’ in this tripartite approach is key in letting families and youth know they will have the help they need when they need it.”
“Big Brothers Big Sisters, Bruce Grey Child and Family Services, and Keystone Child, Youth and Family Services are thrilled to join together with Bruce Power for the Art of Caring Gala at Cobble Beach,” said David Willis President and CEO, Keystone Child, Youth and Family Services. “This Gala event is more than a celebration; it’s a testament to our shared vision of supporting and uplifting children, youth, and families in our community. Together, we’re investing in programs that create opportunity, build resilience, and provide essential care to those who need it most. We are grateful to all who join us in this journey and to everyone supporting this exciting event, helping to make a lasting difference in the lives of so many in Grey and Bruce counties.”
The gala will provide a lifeline for thousands of children and young people in Grey and Bruce, Willis added. With the support of the Art of Caring Gala will provide summer camp experiences, education opportunities, and a foundation of care that children and youth otherwise might never experience.
Julie Lipsett, Executive Director, Bruce Grey Child and Family Services said, “This inaugural gala has only been made possible because of the generous support of Bruce Power. Their dedication to their community, and specifically the children and youth, the leaders of tomorrow, is critical to this event.”
All contributions will support youth in Grey, Bruce and western Simcoe.
