Bruce Power announced today it is donating $250,000 toward the construction of Lamont Sports Park in Saugeen Shores.
With Phase 1 of the project already complete with four lit baseball diamonds that will be ready for play in the spring of 2023, the donation will go toward Phase 2, which will see the construction of an additional two diamonds.
“This is a homerun for both Saugeen Shores and baseball players and fans,” said Mike Rencheck, Bruce Power’s President and CEO. “Bruce Power is committed to helping our communities thrive through community-based projects like this, which will provide healthy recreational opportunities for all ages.”
The cost of Phase 2 of the project is projected to be $2.25 million, and the Illuminating Dreams Fundraising campaign’s effort to raise $1 million of that amount has gained significant momentum.
