Bruce Power is celebrating National Employee Appreciation Day by making a $25,000 donation to Habitat for Humanity Grey Bruce.
Bruce Power’s employees contribute to their communities in countless ways, including volunteering their time to help build local housing projects through Habitat for Humanity.
“The people who work at Bruce Power are proud members of the communities in which they live, and we’re pleased to honour that with our partnership with Habitat for Humanity Grey Bruce,” said Mike Rencheck, Bruce Power’s President and CEO. “We’re supporting an organization that is making a difference for families right here at home, while also supplying clean, reliable energy to the people of Ontario and cancer-fighting medical isotopes around the world.”
In 2022, Habitat for Humanity Grey Bruce built seven single-dwelling homes for families on Saugeen First Nation. The local chapter of the non-profit has built more than 60 houses across Grey/Bruce since it was founded in 1987.
“The continued support of Bruce Power and its employees has been integral in providing affordable and energy-efficient homes for families in need,” said Greg Fryer, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity Grey Bruce. “While Bruce Power provides much-needed funding through our partnership, employees also volunteer their time to help make our builds successful.”
