Bruce Power believes in the power of diversity, equity and inclusion for all and as part of the company’s commitment, it is pleased to support and sponsor community Pride parades and events.
June is Pride Month, which is dedicated to commemorating and celebrating the diversity of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities and serves as an opportunity for members and allies to come together to recognize the talent, resilience, and contributions from within.
“At Bruce Power, our people are our greatest resource, and we pride ourselves on having a diverse workforce that is inclusive, supportive and free of discrimination,” said Chris Mudrick, Bruce Power’s Chief Nuclear Officer. “We carry these beliefs into the community by supporting Pride events in our area.”
Bruce Power will take part in the following events:
Huron County Pride Festival – June 10
- 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Courthouse Square, Goderich
Owen Sound Pride Parade and Street Fair – June 17
- 3 p.m. – Parade begins at 10th St. E. (goes along 2nd Ave. E. to Farmers’ Market); 3:30 to 6 p.m. – Street Fair, Vendors Market at Owen Sound Farmers’ Market (88 8th St. E.).
Kincardine Pride Parade – June 24
- 11 a.m. – Parade from Bruce Power Training Facility B72 parking lot to Kincardine District School (885 River Lane)
11:30 a.m. – Celebration at Macpherson Park (kids play area); Dunsmoor Park (entertainment, arts and crafts); Kincardine Pavilion (vendors).
Fort Papalia, President of Kincardine Pride, said it’s important to have a strong, progressive community where one’s neighbours, friends, family and visitors feel respected, valued and safe regardless of their gender expression or who they love.
