Bruce Power supports International Plowing Match and Rural Expo as a Platinum Sponsor

Bruce Power is pleased to continue its support of the International Plowing Match and Rural Expo as Platinum Sponsor for 2023, which kicked off Sept. 19 in Bowling Green, Ont., in Dufferin County, and runs through Sept. 23.

As Platinum Sponsor, Bruce Power led the Bruce Power Opening Parade and Opening Ceremonies and handed out nearly 2,000 of its incredibly popular cowboy hats to MPPs from all parties and the public.

The International Plowing Match and Rural Expo is a five-day celebration of agriculture and rural living. There are plowing competitions, a range of activities for people of all ages, numerous opportunities to learn about agriculture, live entertainment in multiple venues, and hundreds of vendors and exhibitors. The 104-year-old event is a collaborative effort of the Ontario Plowmen’s Association and a local committee of volunteers. The event attracts more than 80,000 visitors and political dignitaries annually.

“As a large employer proudly based in the heart of rural Ontario, we’re proud to be a part of the IPM and support the agricultural communities in which our 4,200 employees live, work and play,” said Dwight Irwin, Bruce Power’s Manager of Community Relations. “As one of its largest producers of clean energy, we’re helping to power Ontario forward while also protecting the environment for generations to come.”
