Bruce Power and GE Vernova’s Steam Power business have entered into a strategic supplier agreement that will see the companies continue to work together to provide safe and clean electricity to Ontario for decades to come.
The agreement further advances a mutually beneficial business relationship in the form of a performance-based, co-operative strategic alliance, utilizing GE Vernova’s core competencies in turbine and generator parts, inspection, and maintenance. This important outage and project work will optimize the performance of Bruce Power’s units and support its ongoing Life-Extension Program over the next decade.
“This strategic alliance agreement creates synergies between both organizations and enhances capabilities and predictability through a collaborative approach,” said David Furr, Bruce Power’s Vice-President, Supply Chain. “Ontario and Canada are leaders in the nuclear industry and partnerships such as this drive efficiency, support innovation and the application of industry best practices.”
Bruce Power and GE Vernova’s Steam Power business share a commitment to maintaining the highest operational standards, while ensuring the delivery of reliable and sustainable energy solutions to customers and shareholders to not only redefine industry benchmarks, but also pave the way for future collaborations and innovations that will drive positive change in the global energy sector.
“We are grateful and excited to support Bruce Power on this new strategic alliance. We have built this relationship on common goals – creating a unique opportunity to drive synergies and predictability through long-term planning. This strategic alliance is emblematic of our commitment to decarbonizing while electrifying,” said Tim Anderson, GE Vernova’s Steam Power, Nuclear Sales Executive.
Bruce Power’s Life-Extension Program is Ontario’s largest clean-energy initiative and one of Canada’s largest private-sector infrastructure projects, funded by private-sector investors. Bruce Power provides between $9 billion and $12 billion in direct and indirect economic activity in Canada from operations and its Life-Extension Program, creating tens of thousands of jobs and economic development.
