Bruce Power and its supplier partners have donated nearly $140,000 to Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada in honour of World Brain Tumour Day on June 8.
“Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada provides a critical service to thousands who have been diagnosed with, and suffer from, this type of cancer and their families,” said James Scongack, Bruce Power’s Chief Development Officer and Executive Vice-President, Operational Services, who also serves as Chair of the Canadian Nuclear Isotope Council. “Bruce Power’s cobalt-60 medical isotope program provides one of the most targeted and advanced forms of radiation treatments available for many brain cancers today. Supporting Brain Tumour Foundation’s mission is an essential means of giving hope and possible cure to those in need.”
The donation combines a $100,000 commitment from Bruce Power’s Community Investment Fund, while the 38 industry partner companies donated an additional $37,500 as part of the 2024 Supplier Sponsorship Program.

Until that day, we will work tirelessly to improve the quality of life for those affected.”
The Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada, along with the Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario, are also recipients of donations through Bruce Power’s isotope merchandise website at www.isotopemerch.com. Each purchase of these beautiful items, including clothing, drinkware, and office supplies, results in a $1 donation for both organizations.
The Bruce Power Supplier Sponsorship Program aligns the company’s vendor partners to support Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada as well as local, provincial and national non-profit organizations that focus on Indigenous youth, health and wellness organizations, Canadian veterans, community initiatives, and hospital foundations. Thirty-eight Supplier Partners are supporting the program in 2024, raising more than $650,000.
