Bruce Power donates $100,000 to Huron Hospice in recognition of World Hospice and Palliative Care Day

Bruce Power is celebrating the importance of World Hospice and Palliative Care Day (Oct. 12) with a $100,000 donation to Huron Hospice for its “Moments Matter Even More” capital campaign.

World Hospice and Palliative Care Day is dedicated to recognizing the crucial role of hospice and palliative care which provides relief, comfort, and support to individuals with serious illnesses. Bruce Power’s donation to Huron Hospice supports the expansion of its facility in Clinton, increasing capacity and enhancing the quality of life of patients requiring end-of-life care.

“Families turn to Huron Hospice at a difficult time in their lives,” said Willy Van Klooster, Executive Director, Huron Hospice. “When managing hospice palliative care at home becomes too complex, Huron Hospice Bender House provides the professional care that families need. The gift of $100,000 from Bruce Power has ensured that enhanced hospice care is available as close to home as possible.”

“When families face such challenging times, they need a trusted provider to offer that sensitive, compassionate and dignified care,” said John Peevers, Bruce Power’s Director of Community and Media Relations, and Economic Development. “Bruce Power thanks Huron Hospice for all they do to assist their local families with essential quality palliative care in rural Ontario.”
