ESPA Circuit

Bruce Power Emergency Protective Services Fire complete an annual fitness test (Emergency Services Physical Assessment-ESPA). This test is to ensure that the physical fitness of responders continues to be at a fitness level to successfully complete physical firefighting tasks that work towards effectively mitigating an emergency. This test mimics common encountered tasks during events which creates a circuit that will test physical agility. Only medically cleared individuals should be performing this test with a PAR-Q completed and vitals to be done prior to and after an individual completes this test.

This test will be a requirement of hire and continued employment as an EPS Fire brigade member.

Please note that the tasks do not provide all repetitions that may be required for that task but rather an idea of the task itself.

If any questions about this test, please email BNPD-EPSFireinquires@brucepower.com
